Magazine wars... (GO TO THE ORIGINAL PAGE ABOUT THIS BY CLICKING HERE) Thank You! MAJOR UPDATE I spoke to Kevin Girling about an hour ago in Canada regarding not only my concerns, but also those who have both contributed here and via email to myself and the addresses mentioned in the site I put up to highlight the issue. I am delighted to be able to say the he was very co-operative, and agreed that the redirect was inappropriate. With immediate effect he has ensured that the redirect points elsewhere, whilst still retaining his dispute with EMAP, over the domain but with a tongue firmly placed in his cheek as to the new pointing. He did say that they (Richard Green and he) had originally put the redirect there to 'place some pressure on EMAP', then had simply forgotten it was there. I will not make any comment on this other than 'forgetting' was probably somewhat unwise. I have little doubt that the polite yet firm pressure from those who have participated in bringing this to broader attention had influenced his decision, and I _really_ do most sincerely thank everyone who took the time to make an effort. I also respect the speed at which Kevin Girling, once having this placed firmly on the table for his attention, did ensure that the matter was dealt with. I will update the site accordingly. It may also be of interest to many the although he was clear that he did not want the domain to return, under any circumstances to EMAP, he would seriously consider offers to buy the domain for a very nominal fee, if it could be used legally for any independent and/or charitable Land Rover user led purpose. In effect, I feel he wants to put the past, and current dispute behind him and I would welcome any suggestion as to how this domain could potentially be used not only as a positive way to promote the 'Marque', but also perhaps to get some worthy bridge building established and promote some good charitable aims. "Land Rover On' Internet - LROI" anyone? :-) Thanks again to everyone who took a moment. I'm very pleased at the collective result and I am more than happy to continue my subscription, to what I believe is a rather good magazine.
